This is my first stamp so forgive me if it's not that good.

Don't take my word for it. Here is a link to a PDF that gives plenty of information proving that vaccinations do NOT cause autism and that there is no reason to not let your child be vaccinated. In the PDF provided, they will give you a little information on the subject as well as information of peer reviewed studies that prove there is no danger in giving your child a vaccination.

I agree. If vaccinations really caused autism, then every child who is vaccinated would be autistic.

My little brother is autistic and when he was a baby, he was on all kinds of antibiotics for an ear infection, but they didn't do anything for him. We know what caused his autism now (genetics), but my mom is still weary of too many vaccinations. I'm not saying they can cause autism, but they certainly can't do too much good in an autistic child. Plus the doctors were extremely pushy about it. In my brother's case, he ended up being delayed because of his hearing and it took several years until he was caught up with where other kids his age were.

What the fuck does that have to do with anything?
Yeah too many vaccines and medication CAN be bad for an autistic child. They can also be bad for neurotypical children.
What does your brother's autism have to do with his hearing? Nothing. It's the doctor's fault they didn't give the right antibiotics. That has nothing to do with autism.

That attitude is basically just "oh yeah I would rather my kids died or suffered from something preventable than possibly have autism"

I never once said that vaccines were bad for ONLY autistic children. And furthermore I went on to say that we now know - years later - what caused it in my brother. Yes it wasn't the antibiotics, but they DID cause delays in his development which, on top of the autism, was doubly challenging.

The only reason I'm even replying to this comment is for that last sentence of yours. You obviously have no idea what its like to live with someone autistic. Or at the very least, you don't care. Yes, my brother is a pain. Yes, sometimes dealing with him is extremely difficult and frustrating. Some days I do wish he were normal. But you know what? I wouldn't change him for anything. And I certainly would never wish in my life for him to be dead or have suffered from some other "curable" disease.

"You obviously have no idea what its like to live with someone autistic."
How ignorant can you be? I am autistic. My brother is autistic, and I WORK with young children with severe autism.
How did you get that from my sentence?

Well the way you suggested that I do not care for my brother screamed that you seemed to not care.

Answer something for me please. If you have autism, how can you possibly say that I would wish my brother to be different? Did you not see all that I wrote?

That's not what I was suggesting though. I never said you wished him to be different.
What I am saying is that the mentality that medication and vaccines cause autism is kind of like saying "I would rather my child/sibling died or suffered from a disease that could be prevented, rather than have autism"
That was my point.
Not that you don't care about your brother?

It came off that way when you described my "attitude". I'm very sensitive when people talk smack about my baby brother, even if it may be unintentional. I've had to defend him a lot over the years.

One very important thing to keep in mind is that correlation is not causation.

love this. i am actually writing a story where a bunch of parents dont give their kids the vaccination for this reason, and a disease that was only warded by the vaccination at an early age come around and start wiping people out
